Born in Concordia, Colombia—high in the mountains of Colombia where coffee is produced—Dr. Aristizabal always dreamed of becoming a physician. She received her medical degree at the University of Antioquia where she became a general surgeon. Dr. Aristizabal worked for over 12 years at a local hospital in Colombia before moving to the United States in 2003.
Dr. Aristizabal needed to get licensed in the U.S. and always felt a calling to psychiatric services. She went back to school and graduated as a Nurse Practitioner and became board-certified in Psychiatry at Florida International University.
