About Me

Edwin Ramirez is a board-certified psychiatric mental-health nurse practitioner. He earned his initial degree in Health Sciences at the University of Miami. He then worked as a mental health targeted case manager and volunteered in the department of child and adolescent psychiatry at Miami Children’s Hospital. After realizing the need for competent and caring mental health providers, Mr. Ramirez decided to return to school to obtain further training. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration on psychiatric mental health, at the Ivy League and top-ranked University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Mr. Ramirez is trained and board-certified to treat children, adolescents and adults.

Moreover, Mr. Ramirez has a past diverse clinical experience working with clients across the lifespan in multiple settings such as hospitals, community mental health clinics, intensive outpatient programs, residential treatment facilities, alternative school placements, and treatment homes.

His approach to patient care is holistic and patient-centered. He understands that patients are more than just a diagnosis or set of symptoms, and that in order to better serve them, he needs to address both medical and psychosocial factors. For this reason, he strongly believes in a collaborative team approach to care. He often works with his client’s therapist or primary care provider to discuss and formulate an individualized treatment plan that best addresses the unique needs of each individual client. Mr. Ramirez understands that each case is unique and that not all clients require medication but when it is needed, he makes sure to follow evidence-based guidelines to ensure the treatment is safe and effective.
